My Art History

Art was my first love, and my first discovered talent. From a young age I enjoyed drawing things that I imagined, but also challenged myself to draw things I could see. I won my first art show in 3rd grade and never looked back. As I grew older I loved creating both pet and human portraits, doing my best to capture the essence of the subject on the paper. I went to college for art and earned my Associates Degree, but never pursued finding a job in the field. Three years later I ended up becoming the first in-house Graphic Designer at a large credit union. It was there that I developed my skills and kept that title for over seven years until I went into full time ministry.

In February of 2019 my love for drawing was rekindled in a new way. I was given the opportunity to have my own art show at a brewery in my town. It was then that I realized... I didn't have an art niche! I had created many different types of work in the past, so I decided to focus on one form: single-line drawings. I began to  practice and found unexpected joy in the process of trying to embody a person or object in only one line. I then ventured out to do blind single-line drawings, and loved them even more. "One Line Jordan" was born. I built up a portfolio, displayed my work, and held a successful event where I drew over 50 individual live single-line portraits. It was truly a magical experience!

Now I do commission work whenever opportunities are presented to me.  I enjoy creating art that blesses people by showcasing an important moment in time,  a loved one or pet, or something that makes them smile. I am so thankful God has gifted me with the ability to draw.
